Golden Skate

June 23, 2008 — Lesley announced today that she has retired from competitive skating to pursue professional opportunities.

"It was probably one of the hardest and easiest decisions I've ever made," Lesley said in her journal. It was a hard decision because I love to skate, I love the people I skate with and I love skating for all of you."

At the 2008 Canadians in Vancouver, Lesley's free skate was ranked second-best of the day behind eventual national champion Joannie Rochette.

Lesley will start coaching at Incredible ICE in Coral Springs, Fla., where she recently relocated, as her husband finishes school.
